Enebakken — a tiny house in Sweden with a surprisingly long checklist

Enebakken is a small website and PWA I built for my parents-in-law's little house in Sweden. It is a very simple house. No electricity, no running water, and no smart home system to tell you what you forgot before driving back to Denmark.

The idea

The site has two main modes: Open the house and Close the house.

Each list can be edited directly on the site, and every item can be checked off as you go. That means the checklist can evolve along with the house instead of being a piece of paper that slowly disappears under a pile of other papers.

There is also a small shared noticeboard where family members can upload photos and leave information for the others.

What was built

A lightweight responsive web app / PWA with:

  • Open and close checklists
  • Editable checklist items
  • Saved checkbox state
  • Shared family noticeboard
  • Photo uploads
  • User login and invitations
  • Password reset
  • Custom interface and mobile-first layout
  • Why build a whole little app for a checklist?

Because sometimes the best projects are the ones that solve one very specific problem.

*Enebakken does not need to do a hundred things. It just needs to make sure that when we leave the house in the Swedish woods, we actually remembered everything.

And preferably before we are three hours down the road.
